So last minute I was added to the Latte Art competition bracket.
It’s for Coffee Fest that usually happens in Chicago every other year in Feb/March. Kind of an odd turn for it to be in Chicago so soon and in June of all months. If you’re not busy Friday around 9:20 you should swing by Navy Pier(near the back).btw winner takes $2500. I could put that to good use! Just gotta get back into the swing of things.

On Thursday was the Intelligentsia In-House Competition. For those of you that don’t know what it is, basically the company can only send 2 people to the North Central Regional Barista Competition. So the company holds an In-House comp to see who gets those spots.

Sadly I didn’t get a spot this year. They went to some well deserving individuals that are gonna do great at the regional. But hey, I was looking to have some fun and I did. I know the crowd enjoyed my performance and that makes it worth while to me.

Lucky for you folks, my friend Taylor got it all on my phone. So check it out! Please take note of my apparel, table set up, and music choice.

BTW, my Broseph, Andy got the runner up spot and if the regional doesn’t fill up(which is likely) he will be competing as well. So my job is not done! we’re combining our brains(two brains=big brain) and working some kinks out. He’s gonna be a great competitor this year. Mark my words!

Special thanks to everyone that helped me out too. I would be no where without great company around myself on a daily basis.

01Special thanks to Allison Grant, one of my instructors, for helping me with some new work.More about it later.Update on my life.1) I’m currently doing some training in hopes of competing in the North Central Regional Barista competition. I currently work for the highly respected Intelligentsia in Chicago. Only two competitors from each coffee company that competes in the regional is allowed. Those of you that know, Intelli is a pretty big company so we have to compete for spots within the company. Wish me luck!! and of course I’ll be photographing!
2) My website is up and running for those of you that haven’t seen it. Please visit it and feedback is much needed and appreciated. Matthew Gasaway you can visit it through that link.
3) Someone very dear to me has left me for 2 years. My Girlfriend, Emily Albertson, is serving in the Peace Corp. I miss her already. If you’re interested she has a blog. I know she’ll go great things and help many over there. I’ll be posting photos of our last month together.

Working on some different type of photographs

Did some interior architectural work at Counter Culture Chicago about a month ago. With some helpful advice from Dan Kelleghan  I was able to execute them quite well.

Let me know what you guys think. Again, special thanks to the Counter Culture Chicago crew for generously letting me use the space.
